Lauren Day died 16th June 2006 age 15. Lauren lived in Grangemouth in Scotland with her Mum and
Step-dad. She was a very loved daughter, grand daughter, niece and had adoring cousins.
Lauren died from Cystic Fibrosis a genetic disease for which there is no cure. She lived life to the
full at every oportunity. Unfortunately due to Cystic Fibrosis Lauren would spend months of her life
in hospital at a time. She always made up for lost time when she was well. she loved going out with
her friends shopping or to the cinema and just being with them at every opportunity.

Lauren was a wonderful daughter. She was loving, caring and always happy to be living life to the
full. Lauren always said that she tried to fit as much in to her short 15 years as some people fit
into a lfe time. Lauren had made big plans for her future with university included and travelling
to various places. Unfortunately she never managed to do these things. Hopefuly one day a cure will
be found for this tragic illness so that no more mothers have to go through the pain of watching
their children die a very premature death.

Few people come into our lives
and make everything shine,
but you're one of those
rare and splendid jewels
who makes the whole world bright.
When I am sad, you make me smile.
When I am alone and blue,
you are there for me,
and you make me feel strong enough
to accomplish anything.
Because I appreciate
the many things you do,
more than words can say,
I'm sending you the Candle of Love,
and hoping you receive
many blessings from above.

Please send the candle of love to someone
who has touched your life, and keep the flame
of love burning bright.

You were brave and courageous, fighting C.F day in, day out like my daughter Beki. Like Beki, you also lived your life to the full and never let your illness get you down. Our hearts are broken without our children, taken far too soon from CF,

Sleep peacefully brave angel, Thoughts with you and your family, Rachelx

Ask My Mum How She Is

My Mum, she tells a lot of lies,
She never did before.
But from now until she dies,
She'll tell a whole lot more.

Ask my Mum how she is
And because she can't explain,
She will tell a little lie
Because she can't describe the pain.

Ask my Mum how she is,
She'll say 'I'm alright.'
If that's the truth, then tell me,
why does she cry each night?

Ask my Mum how she is,
She seems to cope so well.
She didn't have a choice you see,
Nor the strength to yell.

Ask my Mum how she is,
'I'm fine, I'm well, I'm coping.'
For God's sake Mum, just tell the truth,
Just say your heart is broken.

She'll love me all her life,
I loved her all of mine.
But if you ask her how she is,
She'll lie and say she's fine.

I am Here in Heaven.
I cannot hug from here.
If she lies to you don't listen,
Hug her and hold her near.

On the day we meet again,
We'll smile and I'll be bold.
I'll say, 'You're lucky to get in here, Mum,
With all the lies you told.
